Festival of Lights

Summary:

This is a combination of two things I've seen.

-Charleston, SC has a Holiday Festival of Lights during the Christmas season. It is a 3 mile driving loop, where families drive by slowly and look at different lighting arrangements/scenes. The scenes are sponsored by local businesses, charities, etc. and can become pretty elaborate! (e.g. http://activerain.com/image_store/uploads/7/3/8/2/1/ar125969737512837.jpg). This is a pretty big even in Charleston during the holidays. There is also a shop nearby that sells Christmas treats and decorations.

-In Montreal, I went skating on a circular trail once, it wasn't exactly a rink, think of a frozen over horse racing course.

These two ideas got me thinking... wouldn't it be cool to have an ice skating trail, winding around parks and paths, while also viewing these gorgeous holiday displays. Doesn't that sound like winter?? You could even expand it to allow a driving course as well, so people who can't skate are not excluded, it would just take some route planning.
