Summary:
St. Paul and the Twin Cities are known for its inventive creative arts scene. I purpose we start holding yearly weeklong event that highlights local and national comedic talent that we have right here in Minnesota. We could leverage all the stages in St. Paul to hold these performances. Local bars, restaurants, and theaters that can provide a stage will be assigned a show. The national exposure and economic impact is self-explanatory.

We could leverage all the stages in St. Paul to hold these performances. Local bars, restaurants, and theaters that can provide a stage will be assigned a show. What makes your idea different or unexpected? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
An event like this can create great new talent and expose people to artist they never would have known about. The hope is maybe one day we could build a Comedy Club back in St. Paul a club that brings in national acts and also is the home base club for some great St. Paul comics.

How will your idea make a difference in Saint Paul? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
The huge influx of people to St. Paul would have a great finical impact on our city hotels, restaurants, and shopping. During this event, every day and night ticked shows will be happening. The places that may hold these events can also request funding to upgrade their stages and sound systems with a forgivable loan from the festival. Also I would want a huge national name to headline a show(s) at weeks end. For this last show I’m thinking BIG we could use the new Saints Stadium, maybe the Excel? The Fitz of O’Shaughnessy’ would work too…

With it being a yearly event this has sustainability and brand association.
