Increase and improve St Paul's livability, health, outdoor recreation and transportation options with dedicated bike routes along the Central Corridor! University Ave will be bustling with buses, light rail and cars of course - but we still need to have increased safe options for walking and biking. Innovation
What makes your idea different or unexpected? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
Let's make the central corridor vibrant with not only the light rail, but safer neighborhoods with increase foot and bike use. I think this would make residents feel part of the neighborhood instead of feeling like a traffic is cutting through the area. The free ride zone would mean residents could really utilize short trips and spend their dollars locally. one-ways with bike paths would reduce traffic from avenue customers trying to park on residential streets, making the residents feel that their space is also respected and not just free parking areas.

increases neighborhood vitality of the corridor area, frogtown/rondo communities
Sustainability
Why do you think people will recognize or remember your idea after it comes to life? How might it inspire others to do something similar in their community? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
expands the idea of mass transit to include biking and walking. University Ave would be more welcoming and neighbors would feel more connected to the "transit" corridor from increased foot and bike traffic, while Univeristy Ave would be less congested from sharing sidewalks and road shoulder parking with bikes.
