Summary:

My idea would be to create a sculpture trail around Saint Paul. This trail would have sculptures made by St. Paul or other artists. Most if not all of the sculptures would need to be child play friendly(Sculptures they could climb, play, or swing on). That would need to be a one criteria for the artists. The trail would be dedicated to walkers, bikers, roller bladers, and scooters.(Ideally, 2 paths to accomadate the various modes of transportation). It would be nice if there were the green rental bikes available for people to bike the trail(like in minneapolis). The sculpture trail could also continue into the skyway for use during the winter. Around the sculptures there would be benches, plaques,and/or bricks dedicated by individuals or groups. If possible the bricks would be from St Paul streets or buildings. Also, somewhere along the trail, there would be donation boxes for people to donate some money to help the homeless that live in Saint Paul( that would go to the designated shelters in St Paul). The brick/plaque/bench money could also go to that cause or it could go to continued maintanence of the trail. There could be also be different types of gardens or flowers along the trail.

What makes your idea different or unexpected? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

To be honest I am not sure what the other ideas are, but my guess is that my idea encompasses the spirit of Saint Paul. It has a contribution from the artists that live there, a contribution to the homeless that exist there, and an ability to give back to both. It also brings in a way help people exercise and a way to have all ages enjoy the trail.

This Entry is about (Issues)

How will your idea make a difference in Saint Paul? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

I think it will support the artists, the homeless, and give people a way to honor their loved ones in the process.

Why do you think people will recognize or remember your idea after it comes to life? How might it inspire others to do something similar in their community? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

I think they will remember it because they will be able to use it in a healthy way. I think the art with the memorials along side of it will inspire others to want to do that for their own community.
