Summary:

The bus stops could use an upgrade, as a good way to promote transit station. It should be a new contemporary design that is sophisticate and simple, but on the side there could be something to do. Whether it is a chess game or a swing set to spark our inner child.
Also it has to be safe for teenagers now, because they no longer have school buses. This could be an area that can promote social interaction with the use of art and music. To create an environment that people actually want to experience, rather than a dark dingy place for someone to sit/stand at. Instead of it being a necessity, people will come back and use the transit if the experience is inviting. This could be a way to sustain the fund for the transportation system, if this becomes popular.

What makes your idea different or unexpected? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

The innovations for this project would involve changing the aesthetics of the bus stops to look more inviting. A brighter, warmer, and inviting environment can be approached with aesthetics. It can be an sophisticated simple and contemporary design or something abstract and full of movement and energy. Lets focus on the human look rather than all about an industrial feel to the environment.

To promote social interaction, there could be a device or some sort that makes music. Whether it is a mechanical drum set that one plays are a wind instrument, one or more people can join in. Two or more persons can harmonize together by not even knowing how to play an instrument in there life. Once other people see this, they too will want to try. Even if they were just walking, it would be great.

How will your idea make a difference in Saint Paul? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

By making the experience at the transit bus stop more enjoyable, it will bring people who don’t usually use the transit system, back. It would become a safer environment for teens that have to ride the bus because it would be a higher traffic area that could help deter criminal activity. It would increase business for the transit system, which will fund other counties in the area that use it frequently. It will promote the awareness sustainability by helping to reduce carbon emissions.

Why do you think people will recognize or remember your idea after it comes to life? How might it inspire others to do something similar in their community? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)

While using the transit system or driving by a bus stop, a person can notice that it has changed by the way it looks. If it changed aesthetically then people would notice because they are use to seeing a metal box with glass windows. A social interaction would make people curious of what is going on at that corner of the bus stop. It is something different and would be completely different for inner Minneapolis area.
It could inspire other states to do the same because it promotes less traffic inner city, less carbon emissions, and art and music. People live in the 20th century with technology. To aesthetically match the technological age, the cities could use some remodeling unless it is a historical landmark.
