If I had a million dollars to make St. Paul great, I would create: “The St. Paul Wings Foundation”. This would be a non-profit crowd funding company just for St. Paul. The idea would allow any local non-profit organization to campaign online to raise funds, create awareness, learn to advertise online, network online, and eventually grow wings to fly. What makes your idea different or unexpected? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
This would be similar to a “Kickstarter” crowd funding campaign but strictly for non-profit organizations here in St. Paul, MN. No businesses, no profiting, strictly made to help raise funds for non-profits. Every project and non-profit has to be pre approved by the staff before using the site; this will make sure they meet the guidelines of a legit fundraising project. All the projects will be cross promoted with all other events happening here in St. Paul. The key is to create maximum awareness for the site so that the community can donate to whichever cause they deem worthy of their money.

Funding is the bloodline of every non-profit, if you allow our non-profit community to utilize the local online community and create this launch pad for them, they will be able to make a much bigger impact on St. Paul as a whole.

Why do you think people will recognize or remember your idea after it comes to life? How might it inspire others to do something similar in their community? (4000 characters maximum or approx. 500 words)
Just like any crowd funding website, a small % (5% or so) will be taken out of each raised project to help support the website, pay administrative costs, market/advertise the website, create awareness, and overall support “The St. Paul Wings Foundation”. On top of that the money raised for different projects will recycle itself back into the community.
