Summary:

I would use the title of my proposal, St. Paul You Gotta Love It, as the theme or moniker for the city… the theme is catchy, humorous and loaded with potential.

I would select and convene a team of PR specialists and other highly creative souls for the development of a comprehensive public relations plan. The team would provide knowledge, expertise and experience.
I would capitalize on what we already know that makes St. Paul great e.g, A great place to raise kids…Friendly, courteous, kind …the center of state government…The State Fair…A clean city…thriving diverse communities…good schools …clean, etc.

I would develop the public relations program around select themes…targeted subject areas like:

A. Random acts of kindness
We are Minnesota- Nice St. Paulites in the best sense of the words. We treat people right…with respect, trust, courtesy and kindness …the city of smiles. We are a community of givers, sharers and helpers always looking for a way to help someone. Random acts range from opening a door to giving up a place in line, anonymously paying a restaurant or fuel bill and rescuing a pet.
Activities and support: Print RAK cards to be distributed by businesses, merchants, organizations
Saying “ this is a random act of kindness please pass it on…or pay
forward”

Sponsor a Random acts of kindness day once a month

Help reopen another Kindness Café restaurant or encourage “Kindness” businesses

B. St. Paul “You Gotta Love It” publicity Ideas
Whatever activities or plans that are selected can be promoted in ways that are highly visible
like billboards designed by local competitors eg., artists, cartoonists, photographers.

Painted vehicle billboards

Student theme writing competitions for best random acts ideas

Largest kite festival in the state/USA/world

TV, radio, publications support
