Putt Putt for Awareness

Describe how you would use $15,000 to help your community become aware of and address water issues in Minnesota.

I would use the $15k to commission a handful of artist to use a portion of a (or several) community parks to design a water awareness miniature golf course. Similar to the miniature golf course in the backyard of the Science Museum, the infusion of fun and learning is an excellent way to raise awareness, especially for kids. The chosen artist can select different issues they want to bring up through different holes in the course in an artistic way.

How do you define your "community"?. How are water issues affecting your community?

I live near many different diversities in my community, many different ages, sexes, ethnicity, and incomes, the main water issues in my community is with having the once mighty Mississippi in our backdoor with the knowledge of how disgusting the river has become.

Describe how how you expect your idea to make a difference in your community.

With proper publication from the local media, the golf course(s) could become a hot spot for public recreation, therefor spreading information to as many people as possible. And by having it in a public place, it continues to strengthen the idea of community.

Describe how your idea will "stick" in your community and how you think it could be repeated in other communities.

It will "stick" because it is a combination of several different
ideas: art, learning, and miniature golf. It is easily repeatable.
And who doesn't like miniature golf!?!?!
