Name your idea

Compost for Community

Describe how you would use $15,000 to help your community become aware of and address water issues in Minnesota.

My idea is to create awareness for more composting in Stillwater, MN. I would use the money to create a media source to educate people about the benefits of composting. Possibly start a "community compost site."

How do you define your "community"?. How are water issues affecting your community?

Stillwater is a town with many beautiful gardens. Any fertilizers used in these gardens eventually run-off into the St. Croix. which is a nationally protected water-way. The community needs to be aware of the benefits of using compose opposed to fertilizers.

Describe how your idea will "stick" in your community and how you think it could be repeated in other communities.

My idea is one idea that would be something that everyone could easily do. And it would also save people money which is always a good way to make something "stick."
