Summary:

"We Wish You A Merry Passover--A Seder Sung to Christmas Carols" would be a comedic, full length stage show/musical where a Jewish father--Marvin Goldstein-- has "re-written" the Haggadah using the melodies of Christmas Carols to tell the story of the Exodus. Why has he done this? Marvin's son, Jarred, is about to marry a Catholic girl and her family has come to the Goldstein's Seder in order for the two families to "meet the in-laws." Marvin wants them to feel "perfectly at home" and immediately know all the melodies of the Seder. Solution? Use Christmas Carols! He also does rewrites for "Dayenu" and "Adir Hu." This show could be performed during the Christmas holiday season (Thanksgiving to New Year's) by a Twin Cities theater company. It could also be performed year-round throughout the country for Jewish and interfaith audiences at JCC's, synagogues and churches. It could serve as the basis for interfaith discussions and workshops after the show.
