Create Healthy Choices at Stores

The lack of access to nutritious, affordable food near people’s homes is a barrier to health. The similar plight of a rural Minnesotan and an inner city resident is striking – in some cases neither can purchase affordable, nutritious options easily. They live effectively in a food desert. In the urban area the alternate choice is calorie intense, cheap, quick serve food. In rural areas, the choice is often packaged choices lacking vegetables and fruits.

Stores offer what people want. Any ideas how to equip citizens to request new healthy choices in a way that changes their options?

I know that I have gotten healthy products in stores that I shop at by simply filling out a comment form. I was surprised that it actually worked!
