How do you define your "community"?
All elementary schools in Minnesota.
Tell us how you think the issue of obesity is affecting your community
As a school nurse I see this first hand. Children have more obesity related issues such as diabetes. Obese children with asthma, have more difficulty breathing than their peers with asthma who are not obese.
Obese children must tolerate teasing and bullying.
Why should your idea be selected?
These ideas would be easy and inexpensive to implement. The children would also enjoy the activities. I could also help by implementing this program in my school district.
