I have been in the electronic recycling industry for three years and while working for other people, I saw a variety of charitable and economic opportunities that were being missed because of the lack of vision, funding and due diligence needed to make things happen.
My vision is to donate an unlimited amount of reconditioned computer systems back to non-profit organizations, to provide training for everyone and to help save the environment by education, reuse and by making recycling easy and affordable. I told my ideas to customers and they were all eager and willing to be a part of it, hence the name of the company Our Vision Recycling, working together to reach a common goal.
I started our electronic recycling company in Roseville, MN on July 1, 2012. Unlike some other recyclers in the area, Our Vision does not charge for weight of items or for pickups. The items come in and get sorted; our tech department determines what is fixable and reusable. The items that are useable get put back into service and a percentage are donated to non-profit organizations such as Meals On Wheels and East Side Neighborhood Services. Any other equipment that cannot be used then gets properly dismantled and disposed.
The blue sky and clouds on our web page and business cards represents the common goal of the company, to clean up the earth so generations after us can enjoy the beautiful blue sky we have grown to enjoy and that the sky is the limit on what we can accomplish by working together.
