Maddie and Allison are current AmeriCorps VISTAs passionate about urban gardening, more specifically vertical gardening! We are apart of the City of Saint Paul VISTA cohort through Mayor Coleman's office. At a recently attended National Youth Service Learning Conference, Maddie and Allison came across guerilla gardening seeds, much like seed bombs but for beautifying neglected city spaces. During the day of service at the conference, Maddie was introduced to a TEDTalk on vertical gardening in the South Bronx in NY. Check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RF6qTlgtHU0. This TED Talk and lingering passions for urban food security has inspired both of them to submit an idea for this challenge.
