My teaching career thus far has been a practice of serving the students who fall through the cracks in the traditional public school system - from urban Native American youth to students in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction to students on the Autism Spectrum. These students inspire me to do the difficult, the unlikely, and the uncomfortable, to face hard truths and have the strength to learn from adversity. They have taught me more than I have ever taught them.
